Toyota's are made by Daewoo.............;)

The starter motor I took of my Z today was made my Mitsubishi, as are most of the electrics on it.

Mitsubushi electrics and motors are two entirely different companies BTW

GReddy profecs are made by texas instruments, as an upgrade for "speak and spell"

& their turbos are made by Sinclair, from a prototype C5!

The whole 'brand name' thing is a bit of a con as far as I'm concerned. 90% of stuff is manufactured in massive factories in the far east for feck all and then 'rebranded' umpteen times (every time it's rebranded another 200% cut is taken) and then it gets to us marked as 'genuine Nissan, or performance, blah blah! etc. Don't believe for a second that you need to go to Nissan or 'performance dealers' to get quality parts.

peter, this is the point im making , so would it not be worth having a list somewhere of alternative suppliers etc

Sorry, didn't catch your point first time, but your'e right. Did once see a website titled approx 'what bits from other cars fit yours'. The Z is a Nissan, pretty sure that a lot of minor parts connectors/filters/etc are readily available for non-Z's at a lower price. My MOT man said at one point, nice, bit like a Primera,(cry,I think he meant suspension wise). Think the air filters are the same!

The zed came first, so primera like the zed.

cheerz, mickey

primera suspension isn't remotely like the Zed, zed has front and rear double wishbone suspension. I don't think the primera has double wish on the rear, let alone on the front.

Some of them have the same size (physical) AFM, but not the same resolution.

Some primeras do have the same suspension as a Zed on the front.

It's not double wishbone really, sort of similar.

Sorrry off topic. TBH. Ain't got a clue what the similairities are or are not with a Primera and a Zed, presume the MOT guy was referring to comonents/design and was certaintly aware of the upper link play topic, coversation "it's wobbling, it's O.K. it's a Nissan they all do that" .

a lot of 300 parts are used in Subaru WRX's ..

frontbrakes/discs, injectors, similar ECU and lots of other electronics, parts of the gearbox.

Exactly what my MOT guy said to me too.

scooby wrx rear brake pads are the same too.

I'm pretty sure the scooby injectors are bigger than the stock 370cc Zed ones thoguh.

They can be used on the S14 (same as Z32, 370cc, side feed) as an upgrade.

Some of them are 560's IIRC.

Greddy use mitsubishi turbos

HKS use Garett turbos

Nippon Denso manufactures almost all the injectors for every brand and the same is for the plugs also not only for HKS but for the other brands also
