Guys Japfest is on May 22nd this year at Castle combe, though i didn't go last year i believe it's an excellant show with thousands in attendance, track time, club stands and many traders, most car clubs are all ready subscribed and paid for their pitch, so if we don't get our name down soon we won't get a place. Who's up for going and is there a club event organiser able to arrange ??

cheers

smithy

The regional organiser person in that area should get involved to sort it out.

I went last year,on the ZClub stand, long way to go for me but was a excellent day, some great track racing(especially when the Norris Designs Evo lost it on a bend and crashed into tyre wall fookin the nearside bodywork, mind you he was gunning it and taking on a load of GTRS ;) Saw some 240,260,280 Z racing at one point, and for those that like there country walks its possible to walk around the perimeter of the whole circuit, some great views, Will be going again :)

I went last year, was ok for it's debut year. The weather was a bit crap though.

It was bit like a scooby club meet last year, but hopefully there will be more proper cars there.

If you can get 20 cars together you can book a track slot for £350 which works out a bit cheaper per car, it's normally about £22/car IIRC.

SXOC have a stand again this year (was next to Zclub last year), and another club I'm a member of have a stand for the first time this year.

BTTT, so the organiser (who is it btw)for that region may spot this, 16 weeks away that's all.

Me & a few mates will be going, first time at c'coombe,

will i need to be a member of a club to park up

with the rest of the z's, or will it be like jae, where

we just parked up with all the others?

Hello there, haven't been here for a little while!!

OK you lot I'm arranging a stand for the Z Club again at this years JapFest and it would be good to do it together (so to speak!!). I can pass on all the details I have to someone or I can just go ahead and book a stand for both clubs. What do you think? I was also going to invite the 350 forum to join us.

For the people that braved the weather last year, I was thinking of asking for the same pitch as last year as we didn't quite use all the space we did have. If I buy as a club the tickets will be £6 each and I will get hold of vehicle passes so the cars can get to the stand. Last year I was a bit disorganised so hope to do a better job this year, will even provide gazbo and tea and coffee all being well!!! (steady on the tea!)

As to track time, yes this is £350 per session, (17.50 each if 20 cars go out) Last year the Z Club paid for this but what with driving licence/helmet etc only 3 cars went onto track. So this year if members want to go onto track they will have to cough up themselves. Again I'm happy to arrange this if you want, track time costs £22 if you do it individually.

So Basically let me know what you want to do and if I can help

Great idea Suzy on all counts, this all seems a bit slow compared to other arrangements for shows later on in the year. SMW1 + Jay300zx i believe are the organisors for that area, so hopefully one of them will join in with you on this.

I hope to be there as a trader anyways otherwise i'd be on the plot with yers.

cheers, smithy

  • 2 weeks later...

Who is gonna organise a club area then ??? or do we all just tun up and hope for the best (Allocated club area would be best me thinks ???)

I've organised a club stand for 30 cars and I can expand this if I need to. This is for the Z Club, 300ZX and 350Z.

I hope you are still happy to come on board and have a joint stand.

I can send you tickets and vehicle passes near the time (£6) but if you want to book a place on the Z only track session I will need money up front for that (£17.50 usual price £22.50). This is a marque dedicated track session and so far I have

1x 240

2x 260

1x 280

1x 300

4 x350

This could look quite impressive!!
