Just got my Zed back, had the Turbos reconditioned, well seals and bearings replaced. The guy who did said that this was one of the hardest cars to work on, the guy did it without having to take the engine out.

 

No more smoke....thank god!

I paid him £700, but he said he would not do it that cheap again, as it would be easier and less time consuming if he was to take the engine out instead.

 

I used standard bearings and seals.

The place I phoned for prices on recon the turbos said that he would charge more to get the turbos off that it would to get them re-coned

Had mine done 18 months ago. cost £1100 + £450 a tub to recon. Then pumped up the volume and one is smoking allready when ticking over :cry:

 

So its going to be upgrades this time but have decided which yet? :confused:

Must admit - I can't see the point of refurbing standard spec turbos - if you've got mods why let a few grand hold you back!!!!
