But none the less a good day was had by all, including myself even tho' I had to sit and watch all the others bombing round the track and I could only site with Harve whilst we got upset........

Harve mate.......Next Time.... smile.gif

Tony, Get yourself a jacket ordered!! (more business for TT Tim) wink.gif

Hiya GuyZ,

Too right - a fantastic weekend biggrin.gif Great to see everybody again.

I would do the track time again BUT NO supras!!! I know I mentioned the certain offending driver to some people at the time but to pull that move off on the first flying lap was just idiotic frown.gif Nearly two cars in the wall.... frown.gif I know most of the supra guys did behave and stuck to the rules but FFS!!!

All I can say now is - 2WEEKS TIL BLACKPOOL biggrin.gif

CheerZ GuyZ,

Andy

yup great day and yup supra owners are twats

they were being stupid, but what can you do.

I would like to apologise if you felt the Supras were out of order. I accept full responsibility for the move on the first corner against the white 300, I had seen the Belmont move over and the 300 was right in front of it so I worked on the principle that they knew I was coming through and would not pull across, the Belmont didnt pull back across but the 300 did and I had no option but to take to the grass.

I wouldnt want the track time to sour any relationship between the clubs so if there were specific incidents which arose please let me know and I will address them with the individuals concerned.

I should also have warned you about the Lotus Carlton owner, I knew his history but didnt realise he would be quite as agressive as he was.

regards

John Branigan

I would also like to apologise for bringing my Yellow Seven and not my Zed!!!!

Supra owners? What Supra owners, perhaps they were at the back somewhere.

Lotus Carlton owner was a bit of agressive I'll admit, but was certainly was pushing the car.

Simon

somebody said he came past you on the right on a corner, I know when he came past me he was on the left and then switched straight across to the right to go past a Z.

JB

Everybody was incredibly well behaved on the track apart from the Lotus Carlton and a red Supra who just would not let me pass. But to be honest with you I overtook at a bend so i wasn't completely innocent.

When the Carlton got past I had a great laugh tailing him aall the way and putting my nose on the inside of every corner just to show him he wasn't that fast. I had a great laugh and that was what is was all about.

If he did overtake on the right someone should have a word with him.

Apparently the Porche crashed as he overtook on the right, but he paid for that dodn't he.

I wasn't unhappy with anyone as I just thought everyone was just having a great time.

Simon

Im just finding out who it was so I can slap their legs for you.

As I said at the top, I apologise for my move on the first lap, after that I sat patiently waiting for the Zs and other Supras to get out of my way so hopefully everybody can see it was a mistake brought on by the sight of a Vauxhall Belmont in front of me on the track.

JB

Branners, appology accepted biggrin.gif No hard feelings - just shocked the shit outta me when I heard you on the rumble strip and looked to the left - I didn't see you because of the belmont so its forgotten now smile.gif I suppose it just makes it clear how dangerous it can be out there wink.gif

Like I say, no hard feelings, just scared the shit outta me at the time....

CheerZ,

Andy

you should have tried wearing my underpants, after the bloke in the briefing said the Porsche crashed just at that point I was sure it was going to go horribly wrong. It was a BIG cone as well. If I could have backed off I would have but I was at the point where it wouldnt have helped. I then got behind a grey Z on the next lap and sat there waiting for a sign from god that I could go past safely, at which point the Carlton appeared and monstered his way past.

I think the main problem was that we had all been on that track last year and knew how short the sessions seem, so we just went for it. Last year they didnt even have the pace car at the start so it was just psycho from the pits.

I had one of our members taping the session from the stands so once its been converted to PC I will post up a link.

JB

yes i think saying all supras was an generaliazation, i found the guy in the lotus pass me on the outside of a corner, on purpose? as i had given him loads of space on the straight and backed of, then he waited to do it on the corner, maby next time a nice smack on the head afterwoods would have made him think again lol

The guy in the Carlton is about 6ft 7 tall, you really wouldnt mess with him which is why nobody has ever said anything to him about it.

Well that just means when he falls to the gorund he just make a bigger thud. his stomach was also as wide as he was tall lol

I also had a great time and personally had no problems with the Supras - some super quick acceleration there !

Carlton driver was a prat. We were there for some fun and his driving style was unnecessary. If he thought he was proving something then he's wrong - most people were driving in a manner which kept their cars in one piece. He obviously had a degree of car control on the limit but if he thinks that pushing that hard makes him a better driver then he's wrong - it's just that most of us were intent on NOT getting to the limit. This was to avoid damage to our own AND other people's cars. He had a total disregard for others. If he wants to race then he should go racing. I've done it and it's great fun but it is not something to be done in that kind of situation.

But, despite that, huge thanks to Craig for once again arranging a great day and it was great seeing the Zs and Supras on the track (not to mention Simon's 7 - does that car handle or WHAT !).

Dave

Wagging Finger: "Oh you cheekey, naughty Supra chapZ!!!" LMAO!

Good to see that all had good fun and maybe next year I too will be creeping round Silverstone in me smoking jacket and slippers...LOL!

Dave Hairsy, told ya mate! No worries!

...and Mat Lad, seeing as you weren't on the track largin' it geeZer, I trust you spent time recording quality footage of large HOOTERZ etc.

Tim

;-)

Good effort! Just read "Mattys Trax Diary 2001" thread...girls, girls, girls...LMAO!

WaZZa, you really do need to start taking those Anti-Agression tablets on a regular basis my friend!

Can I just say one thing about the Mk IV Supra...and this is not out to upset anyone. As you know I do like all me Jap. cars and not just the Z!

But if you read reviews about the Mk IV Supra it's often described as a Skylark basher for around 10K. When you look that the 0-60 of a standard TT you get the idea...think it's about 5.3(any of you Supra guyZ correct me if I'm wrong!) and whereas the Z starts life with about 280-300 bhp the standard Supra gets a hefty 320+

So it's not really fair to compare the two, and by the sounds of things the Soup DragonZ were running some mods which I've also read about them, piece of piss to get high power gains. The guy in last months Max Power from Ireland who was at Billing...to look in his engine bay everything looked pretty much standard unlike the engine bay of Andy whats-his-names Stillen Z beast at SE open day! Mr Supra was putting out 650+ bhp...fantastic! So as someone said, sounds like you all enjoyed yourselves and I don't know where this has all come from Supra vs. Z because at the end of the day it sounds to me like all the Jap. muscle got well and truly cained by a 7 and a Vauxhall Carlton for fucks sake...all be it a Lotus one with about 500 hp as standard etc.

I love you guyZ! You make life worth getting up for in the morning...LMAO!

Tim

;-)

Thanks for organising the day Craig, great stuff.

Simon

Yeah Tim and you needed to see that fucking great arse of a carlton on the corners - woohoo boing screech understeer, then like a goddam crack addicted rhinocerous up the straights. hehe I was in the crowd filming it, and everyone in the stand was like "go carlton go carlton!!'

Heheh I thought it was funny seeing this old neaderthal 500bhp 2 tonne four door psycho waggon mixing it with the Jap stuff.

Laffed my ass off, tho i might not have done if i was on the track, incedentally and I can say this now, I'd have cained the lot of you coz i got 18's and everyone knows you have to have 18's to race..

Heheh only joking before Warren gets out his big south african single pipe donger and starts twatting me with it.

Great day and no mistake.

Peace

Glen.

He he he, yup that carlton was really fast, someof those supras were to quick aswell, but just remember the costs involved im sure all those supras cost more than any 300 on the track on sunday (at least in terms of money spent) and im really starting to like there looks (could thias be the beggining of the end for me)

glad you all enjoyed the day guys, me too

i'm glad this thread has not gone the way the other did, it made me ashamed to read it...

having read and posted on the supra forum thread, it looks like the carlton driver wasnt with them...

in which case, i know who he got the track time from.

and i'd just like the thank that person for letting someone like that on the track with us, cheers, you must have known what he was like mate....

i would not be worried about going on track again with the supras, and i know they organise regular track days, which they have invited us on whenever we want

heat of the moment and quick tempered words does not do anyone any favours (see other thread for proof)

great day, crap show organisers

some clubs are organising something different for next year, i think we'll go that route too...

As I said, you're all welcome to come upto de Wales to the Anglesey Circuit and then crash at mine. Just let me get the parking sorted out first, maybe next summer when the weather is back on form?

Glen, good to see you had a good time geeZer! Wish I'd been there now...bummer...but next year I wanna do the Triple...LeMange, Billing and Trax.

And WaZZa, Soup Dragon would suit you fella, your Super Fagger back box would be right at home! He he he!

Who needs gran Turisimo when you can sit up the chuff of a gaggle of ZX's and TVR's.

Trouble is my ears are still bloody ringing after a whole day behind the wheel of a Lotus 7.

Anyone fancy a trip to Bedford Autodrome?

Evo do track days there.

Simon

BTW Hairsy, I have lots of melted rubber on my nose cone and wings and I think it belongs to you. Looking scrubbed were they?

Simon

It's funny you should mention it as they do seem to look slightly better run in than they did before !
