Hi all just pop on here for a look at what motors you have lined up for racing us gto guys and find you all thinking were backing out cos were scared OH DEAR OH DEAR you will see different in a couple of weeks when we are all back on the road alot of us having been doing winter maintainence / modifying you better pray we dont have a wet spring/summer we got some nice cars lined up for you guys to race dont get me wrong i know you guys have your moded z's and i respect they are fast but we have some serious bhp monsters rolling out of the garages you are not gonna have the walk over you think your gonna get :tongue:

WHO was that at Santa Pod today Two red Z having it on strip one made a 13.9 :bow: somthing even with spin off the line it looked like an auto.Though. nice to see the Ferrari Modena made 13.5 were not that far behind. i also see a 3 black Zeds Tonyc's, and chunks i think, and the other was the old boy who spoke to me, sorry bud i cannot remember your name.....

 

anyone in the 13's was the *****cks today as no one made 12's at all that i saw.

I was there, my car was really poorly (honest :D ) and i ran a 16.3 (oh the shame) i could only get the Zed to rev to 5500rpm and then it all went a bit wrong, really overfuelling as the chap said at Thor "Your car is running very beckham" (rich apparently). So not pleased with the Zed at the mo, but i did have some fun home on the M1 with a VW Golf R32 ;) .

 

Sorry to Mr Lack as i never came to see you, bit gutted really i wanted to have a look at your Zed, But my mate's who were taking there bikes down the strip had my wheelchair/crutches in there van most of the day, then when i got them back i saw you leaving :mad: . Next time maybe.

 

Pete Shrimp was clocking good times and GlennC beat me aswell (fecking fuel reg).

 

I will be getting the Zed sorted very soon so as when the GTO boys are ready, i will be a lot more of a threat.

No PB today unfortunately - knew I should have taken the spare wheel out lol ;)

 

1st run 13.793@104.56 - beat a manual red zed by 2.4s & 23mph :rofl: :cool:

 

2nd run 13.804@105.33 - beat a UK auto zed by 2.98s & 19mph ;)

 

3rd run 13.938@105.00mph - peat a Punto Arbarth thing by 2.9s & 19mph

 

Pretty pleased as I managed to keep wheelspin down to a minimum and perfect a two footed launch which I used to mess up :) Bearing this in mind I'm surprised I didnt get closer to my best as the car felt at its best. Bit of blue smoke from the left exhaust whilst idling in the queue which went away - smelt v chemical so I optimistically put that down to the shedload of octane boost I put in the tank.

 

Dunno why I got worse and worse as the day went on tho lol :confused: Air temp maybe...dunno.

 

The opposition that was there (where was everyone???) wasnt up to much eh lads ;) You know who you are :D Only kidding :p

Nope no TC mate :) Heated the tyres up with a bit of a "stationary acceleration" ;) while I was waiting to go - that reeeeeally helps the grip. Massively.

Cool,you know what Pete,I have driven a Z with traction and IMHO It spoils it! over rated and not for me at all!

 

However I don't think I will get traction when my car comes home even though it has new tyres fitted all round:(
