I collected my new wheels at last and they come with tyres as a package. The wheels are very nice 18" with deep dishes and imitation split rim appearance. 275/35 Rears and 235/40 fronts. :D Great! apart from the fact the Tyres are Hankook Ventus. Just how bad or crap are these? does anyone know. I usually run Bridgestone SO2's and suppose I will again in about 5000 miles. Any feed back will be good.

Mark, got a pic of the whels bud? Or what are they? And I'll look 'em up.

I'll take some pics when their on the car and post them when I get someone to teach me how to reduce there pixal sizes.

There some cheepo make Hi'join XDynamic polished solid Alloy and powder coated silver centres. They are much better finnish than the Antera's and a more substantial wheel but, they are more expensive and look the dogs. Pitty the tyres are sh1te.

do any of you guys know of any second hand alloys going for a reasonable price

anything considered other than originals??

Look on the bright side, at least you can have some fun practising power slides without worrying about wearing your tyres out :hyper:

I think you should determine it experimentally and report back. :D

If there as bad or worse than the Avons that were on the car when I bought it three years ago I'll be in for an interesting time. You always end up with it side ways when you don't want it though. Like in the school car park after picking the kids up. All the other parent think your a tosser :o

Had hankooks on mine all round! Agree with the sliding bit-what a laugh-till the back end fooxs off. Am now running Pirelli P-Zero`s on the rear(due to a little help from a friend at a local garage getting me them cheap). Hankooks still on front and havent let me down yet, whether it be wet or dry. The P`s are pretty good, lots of grip wet or dry and when they do slide it is gradual and controllable-know this cos i had a slide on a local motorway link road, one road joins another by way of a left hander uphill and off camber and it tightens about halfway round. It was very light drizzle, as I entered the bend she felt fine so I applied a little power, still fine, bit more , fine , bit more , fine, bit more , GEEZ!!!!!!! arse starts to clap, thoughts of my Z trashed into armco flashing through my head, all while i applied opposite lock, then it dawned on me the way these things do,no problems, back end back in line.still mid corner, try it again? course i did, same again, a little step easily corrected by a little opposite lock, once more i managed it then i was joining the other road! Nice to know where the limits are and if you pass that grip limit that you arent f****d! The slide was predictable, gradual and I could always feel the grip that the tyres had even when sliding. The hankooks well they just gripped and then let go, no warning no little slide just full blown broad side whenever they let go. The tyres I am running are standard sizes on standard rims but am very happy with them. Had them once b4 on a MG Montego Turbo i owned and was impressed then too.

Hankooks bin em and get some proper rubber in my opinion, what that might be is up to you. Would be nice to hear if any other owners have tried the P`s and what they think.

on my first set of 18s and got falken jobbies, 120 for fronts 235 40 18s 125 for rears, 265 35 18s at that, they grip like hell in the dry and are pretty good in the wet, wear on rears is pretty bad but at that price wth
