The date has crept up and my Zed is overdue a service for the Tuesday after the event and the UJ's are noisy and I'm driving to France in it the following Wednesday so.....

 

would you guys mind if took the Caterham 7 instead? I'll put a sticker on the back that says 'My other Cars is a Zed!'

You can only overtake on the straights...WTF??? That's the only place I'll stand a chance. Also if your tyres squeal they reckon that's proof of going to fast and will throw you off?????? Are our tickets going to get us all parked in the same place?

Yes I am serious about the tyre squeal and yes you can't have cameras onboard and you have to wear a helmet and you have to cover all bear flesh and you can't take passengers and the marshalls decision is final and your exhaust can't exceed 95db so i reckon I won't get on the track at all as the Seven is a tad loud!

 

Yes say it's in the interests of everybody and given that most will be Halfords specials with little or no racing experience then it's probably wise. Don't expect this to be a track day is all I can say. I plan to do a few proper track days next year and at a proper day you can pretty much do what you like!

Yeah but everyone knows that there are two styles of noise test. One for Ducati's, Harleys and TVR's, the other for everything else.

Put it this way, me Mrs. drives around in a 3.5 litre V8 Range Rover...back box fell of the other week and to be perfectly honest it don't sound any different.

 

They are a well growly, noisy bugger of a motor...so Dave...like Andy says...you are packin' V8 so don't sweat it! They'll see you pull up in that thing and just wave you through like you've used a Jedi Mind trick on 'em!

It's just part of scrutineering. It usually takes all morning at most race meets. Some places are fussier than others, kind of depends on how much grief they get from the neighbours. Silverstone isn't too bad.

it says your car only has to be inth epaddock like ten minutes before scruteneering
