Hi, while there is no insurance database, maybe try to keep this thread with just a set of brief detals on any quotes you've had rather than having a chat thread

I asked about club insurance, my insurers would rather insure on an individual basis, and currently only do UK cars. Extra bhp is insured on a % over stock basis, kits/wheels/traction is okay.

Here's my two quotes...

Full NCB, 31yo, garaged, T1 alarm, med risk area, 1 fine SP50.

Privilege - UK car - £1050 - 300+ excess - no mods

Greenlight - UK car - £911 - 350 excess - All mods insured

Privelege Insurance for 31 year old male, protected no claims, no accidents, one SP30, 432 bhp (weren't interested in how it got to it - just what the total was and that I'd done brakes), parked on road, South London postcode - £2,100.

TVR Chimaera : similar performance but worth twice as much - £1,050. How does THAT work ?!?

Dave

Dave,

My last car before Z was a Rover Coupe VVC 1.8i, insurance was £900'ish and it was worth about £6,500 same as my Z.

Insurance make it up as they go along I think....

No other way to explain it, is there?

:P
