When I saw that guy on the news, you could tell by looking at him that he was the kind of bloke who would know alot about the internet!!!!:D

wasnt it on top gear theat if you pass a camera at 170mph then it would not go off - someones gotta try that :D

Bike mag did a test on that some time ago - sadly, not true!

Why did he need to "go onto the Internet" to work out the speeds ?

I think that Top Gear proved that if a car (TVR actually) went through a certain type of camera at 170 mph then it was outside the range of measurement by the time the 2nd flash went off. I'd actually heard that it was 156mph and just presumed that they didn't want people to know that, given that 156 is within the reach of far more cars than 170 !

Hi Andy

You saw that too......

They tried at 150 and it still flashed so they went past at 170 and it didn't:D

You therefore could be right about the 156mph, but I wouldn't try it (unless I borrowed your car;))

Richard:D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Why did he need to "go onto the Internet" to work out the speeds ?

He was so sad he needed an on line calculator to change metres per second to miles per hour since the camera pics should how many metres he travelled between the first and second pic. He couldnt do the math otherwise.

I think he was doing 13 mph - should have been arrested for that alone!;)

Just maybe the speed is 156 mph as most high performance cars are now restricted to 155 mph if i remember correctly:slap:

tbh my guess is that the reason the tvr didnt set off the camera is because it was one of the fully carbon fibre (or is it fibreglass) ones as opposed to steel like the other 2 cars they used. I read somewhere about the radar footpring being much smaller so the camera didnt see it.
