Chris,

dead easy to fit mate, got to cut a few holes obviously, but once all the wires are threaded through, its done. More time consuming than anything else because of trim panel removal etc

Hmm cutting holes dont sound too much fun  think i saw a stick on before, sounds better

Can't remember where I've seen this (will do a search tomorrow and post here if I can find it) but there is a company which manufactures numberplate surrounds with parking sensors build into the surround! I think the sensors were located at either side of the number plate both at the front and rear of the vehicle. That way you don't need to drill any holes and wiring the thing up should be a doddle. I'll have a look and let you know.

Regards,

My drive is very deceptive

My reversing sensors are bloomin useful! Previous Japanese owner had tinted out the back window so severely that it's difficult enough trying to see through it in daytime but nigh on impossible at night! I've seen the numberplate type before and my only concern is that they give enough sensor coverage to the corners of the rear bumper. Went for a four-point Laserline system myself, and although it costs a bit more I can't fault it.

LOL.......you beat me to it Mac! I was there and saw it with my own eyes......... I think Mike had better get a couple. :D

Local car accs shop had them with 2 sensors for £40 but they look a bit naff with 4 of something the size of a black plastic wine bottle cork sticking out the back of your car

The only safe side to Mike's Z when it comes to parking is the INside.

Danny: No problem mate. :)

My system is the ESP 4000, which has now been replaced by the 4003 and as far as I can tell the only difference between the two is the model number!

I went for this as oppose to other makes as it gives better all round coverage and the sensors can be fitted flush to the bodywork and painted so you're not left with four ugly black plastic bulges sticking out the back of your car!

I was quite lucky in that when my car arrived from Japan it had already been agreed that the rear bumper would be resprayed to correct a bad patch spray job so I took the opportunity to get the system fitted before it was done.

I bought it from Motor World Direct (01274 805351). At the time they were running an offer which included fitting anywhere in the country through a company called "Hyde Park Corner Autocentre" (0870 240 6151). They sent a guy down to the NewEra offices in Canterbury who set it up for me, and all in, the total cost came to £250...expensive for what they are but IMO it's a good, reliable system, it's been set up properly and like I said they've proved a bloomin useful gadget to have with my window tint situation! ;)

Theres a link below to the Laserline site with more in depth specs:

Thanks for the info Leigh - will have a look at that link ...

By the way, where abouts in Solihull are you? I'm there quite often as I live on the Sutton Coldfield/Erdington border ... Wouldn't mind meeting up for a drink and a chat at some point. Currently my car is a bit poorly but hope to get that sorted soon-ish.

Regards,

Yeah, sounds good mate, always up for a bevy or three:D

I'm just 5 mins from the town centre on the Streetsbrook Rd, just before the Robin Hood island if you know it. Funnily enough I get over Erdington way roughly every other week as my best mates got a house in Gravelly Hill and I crash there at the weekend after a night on the tiles in Brum! Just let me know when you're around fella!:duffer:
