December 23, 200322 yr Mike Feeney's post from the zclub.net forum The TT 4th gear is the same as the 350Z 5th (i.e. 1:1) and 3rd is somewhere towards the top end of the gap between the 350Z 3rd and 4th, so direct comparisons are not possible, [/b] Close, but no cigar. Final drive and wheel size also differ between the vehicles so comparing gear ratios is not much help! Of course they're not comparable, the top speed is lower and there is an extra ratio to fit in there... Anyway, the performance seems pretty similar in general. I just don't believe Top Gear's test was fair, and it seems to be that if Clarkson had to choose he'd pick a Z32, and oh look viewers, which one won? To fuel the debate further I now point out the 350z is snappier to drive because it's NA. The downside of that is you can't tune the tits off it, but we're talking about stock models here (aren't we?)

December 23, 200322 yr There's the sound thing too though... vrrrrreeeooowwwwwooooooooooooossssssssssssssssssssssshaaaaaaaa[snick]vrrrrrooooooooooooosssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss compared to chugachugachugachugaCHUGACHUGA[thud][clunk][thud]chugachugachugachugaCHUGACHUGA which is just about 0-60 in both cars... Amusingly the cars are geared about the same but the extra 3000 revs make quite a lot of difference ;)
