Hi Guys,

Is this an easy job? The car came with a replacement 110 MPH unit in a box and I haven't been bothered to change it up until now. The car's a 1990 jap spec TT, so will the new unit fit directly onto the original wiring loom? Is it easy to get to/remove?

Thanks

Ch

What are you proposing to change from/ to. Most imports have the speedo converted using a 'convertor' essentialy allowing a 180 kmph to read 180 MPH. Personally I don't think these convertors are a good idea either reliability wise or handling wise.

Either change your speedo to a U.K. spec one or use the resistor mod to the Japenese spec speedo. Also re the many speed sensor problems posted I suspect a lot of them are 'convertor' related.

got to go with peter on this one, I removed the speedo converter on mine and all my "speed sensor" type problems went away.

BTW, how are you peter, havent spoken to you since you advised me on my speedo??

I'm fine. Friday ,pissed, post, hope it's sensible! Merrrrrry Christmas, happy new year everyone.

The speedo in the car at the moment is the standard jap spec 320kph. It was not modified when it was imported. I really don't want to go with the 'converter' either - the new speedo is a complete unit - how do I go about changing it? Is it an easy job? Does anyone know is there are instructions posted on the net?

Cheers guys,

Ch

OK, I'll do that now!

Thanks

The "standard" Jap speedo is 180Kph, sounds like you may already have a non-standard one.
