I think that my Mrs is one of the most unluckiest women I know.

Yesterday, she had her 3rd non fault accident for the past 24 months. Now, for those who know me, I am the first to say that the majority of women drivers are shite and I will freely say so in any argument, and have done so several times in the past.

However, yesterday she was driving behind a "white Tranny van" SUPRISE SUPRISE!!! who indicated left to pull in to and park along the curb side. Whilst the Mrs was indicating right to go round him, he decided that he obviously did not want to park there and promptly pulled straight out whilst the Mrs was along side him.

Luckily, she noticed his moronic manuevour, and swurved to avoid him(luckily there was no oncoming traffic), but drove in to the curb on the opposite side of the road.

She gets out, he gets out. "You ok love?". "What the bloody hell do you think you are doing?" - "Sorry love, I didn't see" - "Didn't see me? - How can you miss me? I'm not driving a mini".

Anyway, the Mrs is pregnant and she had the little one in the baby seat in the back. RAC attended proptly and towed the car home. I haven't had time to check it out but on initiatial inspection, most of the air has come out of the front right tyre. Possible tyre and wheel damage...etc.

She got the company details and I have called the the boss this morning. I don't expect him to call back so I will call at 2pm to chase up. If I get no joy, I am going to report his driver to the police for wrecklass driving but do you guys have any suggestions?

I can't see that it's fair that I take it out on the owner but it's not fair that they don't cover the cost of the inspection and any repairs.

Any thoughts?

I feel sorry for your missus bud! Don't expect to get ANY help at all from either the police or the insurance companies. I know you are both outraged at what the idiot did, but it will be a case of his word against hers, and I bet his story has changed by the time he gets back to the depot. My guess would be that the repairs are gonna come off your insurance (speaking from a LONG list of personal experience!):(

Glad she's OK, and the little'uns.

Sadly enough, I think you are right X-biker.

Looks like I might have to deal with this in a slightly different way.

If it's a big company, could try going higher and explaining your 'annoyance' - the risk of bad PR might make them shell out for the repairs as it's not likely to cost much.

Age old threats of newspapers etc... "pregnant woman forced off road by ******** driver"

Rich

Now that sounds like a plan.

Yes Cos do it  Big companies are scared off negative publicity.

From hearing this sort of story a few times - I often think it'd be financially easier not to bother moving out of the way FFS

Good luck mate :)

Just got off the phone with the owner.

10 ten for the first person who guesses what he said!

Yeah - he said that his driver was turning right and that the Mrs was doing about 40mph and wasn't watching where she was going.

However, have just worked out that he gave her a false postcode but I found the company and guess what they do? :D They are a double glazing company. THEY PRODUCE LOTS OF GLASS. :D :D :D

take the missus to a busy pub for lunch and a few drinks (non- alcoholic for her), you get really pissed, and get barred.

in the meantime, a load of scrotty kids are havin a whale of a time smashin up a local factory, before goin to mcdonalds and spendin the £20 some person they'd never seen b4 gave them.

ain't justice great!

Rich

well Im sure you'll end up having a smashing time ;)

In all seriousness, it may be worth telling them your going to the local papers. AS someone said bad publicity n'all that

Yes, the way forward is CLEAR:D

if not transparent.
