Aren't you also finding it much faster? Thats what I found. There is also a big benefit for AMD chip users as they don't have to mess around with those dodgy 4 in 1 drivers. Of course, there is the option to go to the Windows Classic desktop if you don't like the colourful version. It's not bad but it won't become my main OS until more people have it and the bugs start getting fixed but it is looking good so far, especially for games as it benchmarks better than Win98SE (and therefore WAY better than Win2k).

Speed wise little faster than 2000 but I like the other small things. Click on a network and it tells you what card it used for it the IP, MAC everything. I also like the driver roll back. very handy

I told him I wanted to play Unreal Tournament but the big girl doesn't even have it. AND, I didn't get whooped by the bots - well at least not initially. I was finding beating Warren and the bots so easy that I stuck the bots skill level to max and they started to give me a challange (more than can be said for Warren). He'll just keep on making excuses all day long. He'll never accept he got beaten BIG TIME (20 - 3 wasn't it?).

 

I'm up for some online 300ZX deathmatch. I've got UT, Q3 and Halflife so someone name a game, date and time and I'll be there.

Stupid question, where did you get XP it's not due till October, is it a beta version?

My XP is a release Candidate. Final version before the final release.

 

Speaking of Monaco. I was there on Friday and Saturday and I walked down the road where the start grid is.

Ironically there are speed bumps all down it.

BTW, I've got an XP question for you. Currently on Windows (all versions since 3.11 AFAIR), there has been a status bar at the bottom of a filer window which says things like "13 object(s)" etc. I found this very useful - where has it gone under XP? Is there an option to get it back? I couldn't see a selected file count on the web view left pane of the window either.

Ah, so you are using the Windows Classic theme?

OK, I am using the XP default theme so maybe it's something that only exists in the older theme. Shame as it's useful.
