I jus bought my first 300zx =)

It's a 1990 300zx twin turbo

it already has dual 12inch JL audio subwoofers running 3 mtx amplifers, image chrome rims 6circle design which was discontinued a few years back, dual 4inch exhaust, supra style spoiler, tinted windows, and front air spoiler =)

hehe it's all exterior work, but the only bad thing is I have to get the twin turbos rebuilt, which I've worked out a trade with a local mechanics shop to get them rebuilt for free.

It has 150k miles on it, with only 10k on the rebuilt engine with 26k more miles under warrenty by the mechanic shop =)

I'm going to get a wide body explosion kit which adds 3inches to each side, with a lambrighini diablo style side vents

(3 lines on each side)

and then my first choices of internal mods are

new air intake

boost controller

intercooler

ecu

installing Jim Wolf's 300zx TURBOS

I only paid $5,000 cause I bought it from a good (rich) friend, and trade for a few favors =)

NICE mate, that sounds V. nice indeed. Obviously you are in the U.S. where the sun shines alot more than here in Blightey! LOL!

Have you got any pics of this "Explosion Lambo vented Kit"??? Sounds cool.

JWT Turbos eh? Hmmmm, have to check out Mr. Wolfs website methinks...oh and welcome to the best 300 forum on the web...IMHO that is. Aussie site is pretty smart too!

here's a picture of the veilside and the explosion kit

I love it cause the front of the explosion resembles the design of the Bugatti EB110, and it gives a nice aggressive new look opposed to the slick fluid design of the stock 300z.

Yeah I like that my friend...real fatboy slim bodykit! Bit like the Strosek kit but I think I prefer that one...unless I've put me foot in it and it turns out that is the same as the Strosek...DOH!

Warren, if you really must know mate, something tells me you're trying to catch me out here! Sort of! I have had my ECU socketed by SE and I know a certain person, who shall remain nameless, who has in his posessin a JWT chip which...

Sorry mate, I can't divulge anymore info. for now! LOL! Top Secret project what me and my co-conspirator are working on...he he he!

So I'm 2 thirds of the way there...wink wink, you ain't seen me right??? LMAO!

the only strosek 300zx body kit i've seen is this one

strosek3.jpg although i dunno i think that one looks wierd.

I'm not usually much of a fan of bodykits but I quite like that blue one - maybe because it's blue. I'd probably view it differently if it were red ... Not sure I'd want my car that much wider though, it'd be a real problem on some of the lanes around here - many are already off limits !

Hello Andy, did you have fun in Bournemouth mate? Think that's where you said you were going, or am I miles out???

I like the blue kit, much more Grrrr than the Strosek! Impressed.

heh you should see the catalog i have, it's about 300 pages of JUST Z parts, had to order it from Japan, but it has about 3 full color pages of just body kits from different companies.

and it has just about everything you could possibly want for a Z

i like the explosion kit cause since it's wider you can put wider tires for the back giving better traction and control, and the front cause it gives like a ram air effect to the intercooler, one of a few body kits which can help in speed.

isent that a paul baily kit? on the yello one?

i have some images of that kit on quite aa few jap cars will post them when i get home tonight if i ever get home lol

i dunno it says strosek right on the picture so i'd think it's strosek, but then a few companies do make similar bodystyles

if i get the explosion body kits i'm also planning on going all out with probably this side vent addition also

what you guys think of the explosion and the ab flug mod working together?"

I really like the kits they make, a bit wild for most people but then if you want a different look without resorting to peugot headlights lol!!

Tim,

Yep a fun time was had in Bournemouth, ate too much, drank far too much - usual routine. And it was even nice weather ! It's actually a damn fine place to go for a a night out (or 3 in my case!), more drinking establishments that you can shake a stick at and very busy. Loadsa nob-heads in tarted up Escorts etc though ...

Even went to Buealieu (How the hell do you spell that?) - The National Motor Museum, bit disapointing when you've been to the Haynes Museum though. Kept an eye out for Glen's Batmobile in case he was passing through on the way to the IoW ferry, but no sign ...

Yeah that's smart to but you don't wanna end up looking like a chunk of Swiss Cheese...LOL!

i'm going for the look where it'll make people wonder what the hell it is lol

like what the hell is that? even for serious car enthusists, but still trying to keep the true essense of a Z

it's not cheap either the explosion kit is pretty pricey since I'll have to order it straight from Japan, and the ab-flug is also exspensive, but then I have about 10k to work with, and I'm considering selling my 1999 camry to make even more mods to it and taking it to the track and trying to get sponsered, but still that's a long while aways.

haha don't worry that's all the holes that are going to go into the car, besides possibly a 2000 celica hood scoup possibly thinking of getting it custom built.

Bloody hell, I like that too Warren! Nice and stealth looking, I do like the black wheel thing aswell...makes sense coz keeping them free of brake dust is a bitch!

Where are all these nice kits coming form all of a sudden???

Tim

;-)
