Hi, Ive recently purchased my first 300TT (UK spec and totaly standard). I have a budget of about 500 squid (not much, i know) at the moment, and want to make the car a little faster. What shall i do?

Congrats on the choice of motor! biggrin.gif

Normally people go up in stages:

Exhaust

Intake

ECU

Look on the menu to the left under tech sec/upgrade options for more info on each.

You may be able to go for an Air intake about £160. Not sure if you can get an exhaust for £500 plus fitting(backbox section yes, but not much point as restriction is in the front and centre section of the exhaust).

Or you can go for a boost upgrade

that some companies sell for about £270. This will add approx 30Bhp. But intake and exhaust are the normal "building blocks" people go for before raising the boost.

There are lots of options I suggest speaking to Johnny at Grasshopper or Luke at the Z Centre for price and stuff(the numbers are in the contacts section on the left).

Hmmm the state of British life is summed up by the following:

£500 for a nice BHP upgrade, nothing too mad, so why not go for

HKS Induction Kit, a snip at around £200.

Budget the other £300 on insurance loading when you tell em about the HKS induction kit.

Because everyone knows as soon as you fit said breathing apparatus, you are 794.71% more likely to stack your car into a tree.

Tits.

Sorry for the previous cynical post which didnt help, its just I know how much extra those leechy buggers are gonna want for the 'filter' (and thats all it bloody is, 25% loading for a fookin aftermarket breather frown.gif )

Anyway.

I have HKS Induction and its great, nice low end grunt, sounds pukka and aint too expensive, then get a GReddy Krueger exhaust (I would suggest a HKS Super Drugger but if you get one then Swampy, the well known green activist, will take up residence inside it and claim that building a single tunnel underneath a Zed is bad for the environment smile.gif )

I'd look at a Pulley too, tho I dont know if you need the exhaust first.

All the best mate.

well first off give Johhny at grasshopper a bell

Hks or blitz intake and exhaust i think would be a nice start.

good luck

Thanks for the advise. Having opened up the front section, I noticed the car already had a HKS air filter. So Ive saveds a little there.

SO WHAT NEXT ????

A boost upgrade will give you most difference for least cash spent. But if you have a new intake it may have already been done - sonetimes it can be difficult to tell unless you know what you're looking for !
