OK so I thought I had to post this because I promised to post the good bad ugly etc. and I’m really trying to be as unbiased as possible so bear with me.

For those who have read my posts know I am a big fan of SE – I honestly believe that there is no outfit more knowledgeable with the zed in the UK.

When my car last went into SE it was to have smithy’s stage II-III roller bearing hybrids fitted along with some other work. When the car came back I couldn’t sing their praises enough. She was like a completely different car, fast responsive and very very smooth.

Well 800 miles have gone by and she went back to have nismo 555 injectors fitted and then a custom ecu map on the rolling road, there was a bit of a delay because we were to take out the mines ecu and replace it with a socketed ecu but she was ready to be picked up on Wednesday.

So after phoning on Wednesday and being told to come and pick her up I duly arrived at 6pm. Petes’s expression did not bode well! Last time I picked her up he was telling me about her responsiveness and drivability but this time he was telling me that the map was not his best work because it had conflicted with too many other jobs. I was offered a free re-map at a later date however.

Well when I took her away all was not well – in fact she was decidedly sick – at about 75% pressure on the loud peddle the engine floods with petrol which ignites in the exhaust. I couldn’t even get the e-01 to come off learning mode – so I limped home on safety boost and stored her in the garage.

Now I am booked in for a remap in a couple of weeks but it doesn’t stop me feeling let down. I would rather the car was delivered late than faulty.

So finally I say please SE sort this out – I have no doubt you will get my zed running well again but does it have to be this painful.

Regards,

Alex

Something missing there Alex, she ran like a dream before going in on the mines ecu and upgrades, all he's done is change the ecu and chip to suit the 555's which he's done before on other cars, then fitted the 555's, with whipping all the bits off the plenum to do the job, something surely hasn't gone back on right somewhere, no way can i see the mods you've done throw the mapping out on his normal settings for 555's, weird shit mate and having to wait a few weeks as well

smithy

That's "Nisstek" now, of course ;) I know, I can't stop calling them SE. If I start writing NT in txts, I'm sure everyone will think I'm talking about Windoze. Get on the blower to Pete as soon as they're open, or just drop straight in... sounds like something that needs looking at. Maybe it's running worse than Pete thought and you're putting up with it because he told you it wasn't quite right yet. I dunno... maybe a pipe's popped off or somink and they can pin-point it straight away, rather than worrying about it for the next couple of weeks.

Fingers crossed and all that.
