Whats the point of putting a worse engine in a Z for?

There was a picture of a Z with a V8 in and it looked awful.

There are quite a few 240Zs and 260Zs with V8s in as they fit quite well.

A mate of mine built a rear wheel drive Mk I Fiesta for auto crossing. He used a 2.1 pinto motor and it used to snap the halfshafts about every 20 mins !

A mechanic here has a drag escort cossworth with z engine i'll post some pics if i find any

I had a Rover v8 with an offenhauser manifold put into a TR7 DHC. OK not really a silly mod but boy was it fun.

my bruv & his mate done a few silly projects inc:

V8 in a moggie minor

V8 in a mk1 Escort

Holbay engine in a Hilman Superminx estate, now got in it a.....................................you got it V8, looking to supercharge it now ;)

V8 in his delivery Luton Van!!!! :D

another mate of mine at work also races a fully preped 5l V8 mk1 Escort, fully tuned, independant suspension all round etc. wastes most things round the track

even nicer paint work??

Looks like a black z covered in bird shit:rofl:

Redline mag has a small pic of a camper van with a ZX TT engine in it,it did the 1/4 in 18 seconds at the Pod last october:D

and a tranny with rover v8 for my mate was a laugh

did a ........fso lol put fiat twin cam 2.0 in it called the flying brick.

cortina mk3 with chevy v8 and jag axel for my mate that was quick

my last conversion was my bmw 325 which I put a turbo conversion on , rapid good grin factor and still running

Before i start this i'll apoliguise for being a tit!!!!!

OK, when i was 19 (thats 10 tears ago) i was a proud owner of a 1990 Vauxhall Nova Gsi (See i told you i was a tit) anyway, i kept it standard for a few months but i soon got bored with only about 115bhp and wanted more, so i contacted a few local tuners and after talking about 16v 2000cc conversions i was set. As i worked for a Vauxhall dealership at the time parts and stuff were cheap, but to cut a very long story short i ended up having a Nova 2.2 16v with twin weber 45's, in which was too powerful to get traction in the dry or wet, too expensive to insure and you had to keep throwing a tenner in the petrol tank every time you started it, i ended up selling the fookin thing for about 3/4's of what it owed me. That's the last time i buy a car with no power and try and make it quick.
