Hi

Haven't the prices of 300ZX's dropped in the last six months? I was looking at the Autorader site to-nite...feel sorry for those who paid big money for their cars a couple of years ago..He He!

Seriously..I am glad I sold my car when I did...don't think I would have got as much now!( a few months down the line)

Think I'll wait until the winter sets in B4 buying another Cheaper one! Doesn't have to be a daily driver now, so it needn't be a perfect specimen.

ja but all the recent ones are dodgy lol

anyting with sand in the car in anyway or form he he he.... man it is irretating to pay the price and then see what they go for now

I could get 2 Zeds today for the price I paid in 98 frown.gif

Wait till they drop to Z31, 280ZX levels!

Trev

I hope they never get that low! I paid quite a bit for mine in Dec 1999. I blame all the people here who bought imports. We should chuck them off the forum, LOL.

Maybe they are dropping in price because the running costs are getting into Porsche territory (probably highger in fact)? I had a friend who wanted a Z and he got quote WAY more for insuraing a Z than he was paying for his Porsche or Ferrari. His feeling was that there wasn't an officially recognised club for the 300ZX whereas there were for the Porsche and Ferrari and he got HUGE discounts because of it. It's not the most fuel economical car in the world either and the servicing isn't too cheap.

I paid £8995 for my '91 import in April 2000 (it was mint with low miles, all the extras and a few performance and body mods) but I dread to think what it's worth now.

want a good laugh, you cant get a 300zx in south africa for under 20000 grand and thats pounds lol

Yep, sad but very valid point JeZ me old mate! When it comes to the Z holding its value we're all Phuket!

I paid monty money for mine and that was only about Sept/Oct last year. Six months down the line and I'd be lucky to scrape 5K for it.

On the flip side of the coin though, reliability problems aside and running costs etc. Name me another motor that you can buy with Twin Turbo power, Porch whooper etc. etc. for about 4.5K??? If any of you saw JeffTT's lovely example of what you can get for your money if you know what to look out for, it's f**kin' fantastic! Christ you could pay 4.5K for a brand new Ford Ka-ck or a sodding Bini...I totted up how much I will have roughly spent by the time I get my car the way I want it! Scarey, could've been driving a nice GT-R or anything around the 15-20K mark. But I know that I'll be happy with the Z coz it has got the performance etc.

So, to sum it up, bad for us that paid large through the nostrels...good for any young whipper snappers with about 4K burning a hole in their pockets! Get one, don't get one...it's your choice!

P.S. JeZ, that Carol is just the bollox mate...LMAO!

Yeah damm import owners! biggrin.gif (Trev scrubs out "import" on his V5!)

Dont think UK owners have much to worry about cos UK spec in top condition is still quite pricey (well the ones I've looked at).

I was looking at the servicing cost of the Porsche 928S4 the other day:

6000 Miles £129.95. 12000 Miles £239.95

Cheaper than my local Nissan Dealer!! eek.gif

There are more porsche specialists in london than Z experts! frown.gif

Trev

Yeah, thats just my point. I was looking for a 968 flat-back cabrio before thinking of a Z. Cheaper to run, insure, etc. Slightly more to buy but not much. Took it for a test drive and it was too slow. Kept testing Porsches and only the turbo did anything for me but the running and insurance on that were silly.

Andy

ja but a 928 and 968 common thats poor mans porshe, my mom always said "always buy the cheapest house in the most expensive area, rather than the most expensive house in the cheapest are"

"Poor mans porsche" maybe, but they hold there value quite well. Have a look at the stock list on http://www.911virgin.com/

Granted a Z TT can blow them away and the Zed looks better, but I get tired of explaining to the nice blondes I've been chatting to in the pub what a 300ZX is! Forget even meantioning nissan! Porsche would be alot easier(and quicker though not in speed!) LOL biggrin.gif

JEZ guin.gif

I get 15 Nissan 300ZX with 4xZ31's frown.gif , Either private or trade ads, Price less than £6,000, Nationwide. Any mileage,Any age,

Most are imports though. One nice red UK model for £8,500 however.

Trev

Hi,

Go back and try just entering '300' and not '300ZX' in the model description box and set the search to show the first 200 cars...in total there are about 115 300ZX ads.

JEZ

well personally i dont think its very wise to buy a car for investment purposes, i would much rather be seen in a car people dont know the name of than driving past in sum crappy 968 and all the people thinking how poor that person is lol.. just winding yuu up, here, if i could afford a poshe i would have one lol

That has made my year! LMFAO!

If you're chatting to that quality of totty, just tell her it's a Porch...she obviously won't know her Z from a 911!

Look, female sex always goes for the Merc, BMW, Porch, Ferarri etc.

You tell the silly slag that you've got a Honda NSX or a Nissan Skyark GT-R do you honestly think that will get you in???

Tell her that you are testing a prototype new Porch monster and it's been secretly named the 300ZX...yer in! No messin'! God you guyZ need educating the Matty & Timmy Kama-Zutra...shame! LMAO!
