Hi Folks

I have a bit of a prob, I got a HKS Super Drager exhaust about 2 weeks ago, and finally yesterday I got the time to fit it.

My problem is, when coming to remove the old HPipe from the cat flanges, the bolts look like, erm...blobs of rust! :(

And good tips how to get these off? Anyone had this before?

Thanks

This happens on a mates car and we ended up taking it to kwikfit who stuck it on their big ramp and blowtorched the offended bolt and got it off. Didnt charge us either.

Ahh ok, but its all 4 of the damn things, not just 1.

Failing that I guess I could get no cat downpipes too, and take the whole lot off with the h-pipe still attached to the cats, and remove in one piece....

though that depends on the bolts at the other end of the pipes on the turbos :|

The bolts on mine were stainless steel and done up FT, but at least they can take some serious abuse when being undone.

Hi Hugies,,i`ve just fitted the HKS SUPER MUFFLER ,,,,, its awsome,,,,loud ,,,but gives a great noise when you go for it,,,,i had the same problem ,,,in the end i dropped the whole exhaust its easyer and comes off the turbo flanges very easy,(with a bit of wiggling),,then you can decide,,, when you have looked at the rest of the exhaust ,,,whether it needs replacing as well ,,mine did...so i fitted 2.5 ss down pipes and every thing just bolted together it was great,,,,

But once it is off the car you can then remove the shielding and grind the bolts off and redrill the holes for new bolts if they then don`t budge,,but least you can work on it:cool:

Its just a thought ,,or was it a memory??????:slap:

yeah thats what im thinking of doing, thanks for the advice though :D

No worries mate

If you decide you do want ss down pipes , luke at "z centre" are great and i can recomend them ,, workman ship is top notch and he provides all of the seals needed to,do the job,,,,and ,,delivered to your door...

If you get stuck ,,or want info ,,,,post ,,,ok mate ,,,good luck,,its worth it :slap:
