Yet another funny one. When I am at Idle (which is most of the time for me :D) she ticks over at about 900 RPM, which may be a little high but thats not my problem. When I switch on the main beam the revs drop by about 200 and stays there until I switch the lights off again. She then idles at 900????? WTF.

Why do all these problems happen at once. I am scared next time I turn the key the wheels will fall off

Maybe you've got a weak battery? It must be the electrical load of the lights causing this somehow.

The missus' car almost stalls when you have idle with aircon on and hold the electric windows button down, but then thats an 'ickle 1.3...

Check your alternator belt tension!

LOL, nearly had the same problem las week. A noise was coming from the front passenger wheel, like there was a stone stuck in the tread of the tyre when maving. Got louder the further I traveled down motorway. I checked the wheel nuts and I could spin all of them with my finger! Scary as I was doing just over 70 at the time:eek:

i had the same problem, then two days later battery packed up!!!, new battery solved it & also turbo timer that had not worked properly suddenly came to life, weird:confused:

Hi Nick

My turbo timer does not work correctly either. It will keep the engine running but wont switch the engine off. Just loops back round to what ever number you set it to.

yep m8, exactly same problem mine had. dont know why but new battery sorted it!

sounds like the battery could be the problem. But also the idle is too high, idle should be about 700rpm at working temperature. Maybe your base idle is set too high, which is causing the high idle, and the load from the alternator is causing the slowdown of the engine, but if it drops down to 700rpm the ECU doesnt see it as a problem so wont do anything to counter the effect. Im probably talking *****cks though ;)

So? Was it the battery in the end Kia?

No, the guy at Part Co tested it for me and it tested fine....

Any other ideas?
