What an arse of a job that was  Took me and a mate about 3 hours last night to fit the bugger. Getting the trim back on is the hard bit.

I was trying to keep the hole in the susp tower trim as small as poss, whilst being able to access the strut brace nut and bolt, and get the trim back on over the back seat clip thingy

Did it in the end, will post some pics up when I get them off me mate. Looks lovely, and I think I can feel some difference in driving, not a much roll round bends, maybe I'm imagining it tho, but I think there is improvement.

Stu (SMW) - have you covered the holes with anything yet - what have you used?

Cheers

Pete

I think what you are imagining is that you actually have a mate.

LOL

I'd like to get it engraved with "300ZX" or something - but there's no way I'm removing it LOL ;)

Might get a clear sticker designed for it.

Pete

Is it the same one as this peter ?

I was thinking of making the whole nice and circular and them fitting a grommet of some sort over it, but I may just make a mini gear stick boot from vinyl for each side.

Still haven't done anything yet but I'm thinking about it. ;)

Cheers Stu - yeah a small gaitor might be a good way to do it. I also thought of buying a circular rubber grommit and trimming it to fit, dunno tho, some thinking required.

Mine is oval shaped in cross-section, so I think it's a different one to yours.

Will have some pics tomorrow.

Mine is also oval shaped (can;t really tell that from the picture though).

The only problem with a grommet is that the bracket that holds the bar sticks up further than the moulding, so a grommet would have be be raised in to cater for this.

A gaitor would have to be stiched while attached to the bar, unless you were going to remove it again

The grommet would need a slit in it to go around the bar, again unless you were going to remove it.

I will probably Have a play around with some Vinyl this week to see if I can get a good gaitor inplace. That's if I can find my needlework kit LMAO !!.
