Got the dreaded MOT in a month or so and my reversing lights are very tempremental, they tend to flash on and off when going back. I presume it needs a new switch on gearbox. Is this just a case of unscrewing and replacing?

Do you actually need reversing lights for MOT? for some reason I'm sure you don't.

they dont move the car so

if ther on when stood still should pass

no, you dont need reversing lights for the MOT

No, you don't need reversing lights for MOT, but I think intermittently flashing reversing lights might upset them, something about if it's fitted it has to work I think, I'd pop out the bulbs for the MOT just in case, until you get the problem sorted.

as the reversing lights are not part of the mot, you cannot fail them. the tester would have to pass & advise.
