have a look at the complete sony range

there are some great bargains out there

the memory sticks are cheap as chips now

off ebay new 128 stick £28

;) ;) ;)

You get what you pay for.

You may find that you have some pixel discolouration from cameras like Trust as they are built down to a price.

For the money thay are excellent but don't expect fantastic results, they use a pinhole as a lens!

I recently bought an IXUS 400 for the wife, it is fantastic and i think can be had for around £300 now.

I use an Olympus E20 SLR for the more important shots, but that's not a pocket camera, but they are quite affordable now. :D

Have a look here m8, some excellent reviews:

As has already been said, eBay is the place for media, and always buy genuine branded stuff, the Chinese varients are aweful.

Tim

Trust camera's are fantastic quality for the money, I think we paid about £100 for one with a little screen and everything:D The photos are top quality too. Ive got some of my car so if you wanna see how good it is gimme a shout.

Have a look at this site if you want to know EVERYTHING about a model.

Not sure they will have Trust ones though ;)

I've got a Sony DSC-F717 and it's amazing but quite large:

I had a Canon IXUS before that and it was great for keeping in your pocket and snapping away.

I can get good prices on cameras.

If you decide what you want I can let you know how much.

Chris.

That Fuji that we spoke about before, and I have, will do you a treat to start off with Pete. Depends on your budget I guess.

Chris, why did you post, almost verbatum, what I did? ;)

LMFAO well I should have checked your link LOL

Great minds... etc etc *****cks

Sony DSC 717 is one of the very best 5mp cameras.

I have used both but chose the Casio QV5700 because the picture quality is excellent. It has a Sony ccd, Canon lens, uses std memory and will take Sony Microdrive.

Totally automatic through all combantions to totally manual.

I particularly liked the panoramic picture facility.

Cheaper than the 717 so unless you really must have the

the zoom range of the 717, it is a better buy.

Hmmm, might have to agree to differ on that one, I dismissed the 717 back in '02 due to a number of features, the limit of card size (128Mb) and it being an uncomfortable camera to hold, being just two.

If you're talking 'serious' 5Mb cameras you'd be hard pressed to beat the E20 or even its sucessor the E1. But then you're talking money too, although the E20 can he bought for around £780 new now.

Tim

its all about the megapixels, but will you honestly notice the difference between 2.1 million, 3.1million and 5million when you are printing on an inkjet, which will only do 5 before a new £25 cartridge is needed

sonyDSCP72 good deal at pcworld

mine is the one before this P50 with 64mb card, its only 2.1million but still great

It's not all about the pixels, it's about the optics. Put the world's best CCD behind a pin-hole lens and you'll get crap photos.

Tim

pete's ebayed a badboy p52

Cool.

Look forward to seeing lots of Zed pics then. :D

Tim

Tim, if you are spending more than £250 on a camera and your called david bailey, the optics might be important

however the only thing that will make any difference with a camera that you press the button on top, with it pointing in roughly the right direction is the pixels, all the fancy settings are left being set to automatic,

my eye sight is to shot anyway so most things look blured

pinhole digital camera, not a bad idea........

To me quality is everything, I use both cameras for work, but obviously the E20 more so for both studio and location shots.

My E20 was £1K+ so I expect excellent results, the two extra lenses were £300+

Tim :D
