Last month my dad parked his car in a pay and display car park but his car had run out by 2 days. They have sent him a letter saying that he has to pay a £52 fine. Now, in true Greek style we have left this till the last minute to find out whether there is a way around it. He didn't tax the car till a week or 2 after it had run out.
Is there any way that he can riggle out of this by asking for proof?
It states that if he does not provide info, the court may impose a maximum £1000 fine. However, the wording states that a £52 settlement is requested, not demanded, does this make any difference?
