The strainer out of a deep fat fryer has even more. But it'll allow stones through it. Those stainless mess jobs let through particles big enough to tear up the leading edge of the inlet turbine blades and do you really want early bore and ring wear?

Keeping the car long term I know which I prefer even if it costs a couple of bhp.

Oh....yes!!

Le Matchoo.

Stuart, you might want to tape up the mesh on the front of the blitz. On a very rainy day on my old car, a load of water came through there and fried my MAF!

Possibly not a problem with your front end, on the stock bumper it came through the slit above the number plate.

Let me clarify.

The small Apexi is mine, this is protected by a splash guard which sits above the mesh and under the filter. So I shouldn't have any problem with rainy days.

The big Blitz SUS is Cerina's (in her NA).

I thought I'd post the picture to show the difference in size and at the same time marvel at how the Apexi (right) produces more power than the Blitz SUS (left).

I squirmed when I read this - then I realised that you were talking about Stu's air filter, not Scoops' toilet visit!!!!

(I don't want anyone to post a photoshop image of that!)

LMFAO! I think that is where the whole 'pink' thing started!

Stu thought he'd better just re-confirm that is his favourite colour! ...........:D

Why is your filter pink? Mine a vibrent red.

Anyways, the A'PEXi is great. I read techs on how to install other filters and all said either cut or remove the splash gaurd. The A'PEXi didnt need to :D.
