Anyone got any decent firms they could tell me about to collect my car from Southampton and deliver it to my gaff on the Wirral.

 

Any ruff ideas on cost etc.

Chris if your car is lowered make sure they know about it.

 

I got the AA to recover my car and they damaged my front bumper coz it was low.

 

They wont even pay for the damages becoz i signed their recovery sheet leaving me liable with any damage.

I'm assuming that the car is being imported to Southampton docks,if so you'll need to use a handling agent for offloading of the car, same agent will usually provide transportation to your home address.

hehe, borrow mechanic friends trade platesd and drive it back yourself :p make sure you have a smug smile on your face as you pass police cars with no number plates on :p

I wouldn't even tell you about the guys I used. My car was damaged in transit and because I was in the car at the time of loading it onto the back of the trailer, I had no proof that they damaged it as I was apparently in charge oif the car at the time.

 

All I can say is, if you do get a flat bed. Don't sign anything... hand over the keys and take a seat on a garden wall until the car is secured in place.

 

That way if they do damage it in anyway they can't blame you and you will also see it happen.

if you're picking it up from southampton, book an MOT test at home that afternoon and drive it back, then cancel said MOT. Or have a garage prepared to say your booked in.

 

Did the same myself - felt pretty self consious but that was also the first time I drove a Zed so wasn't used to the attention the car was generating.
