Thought I could win at the insurance game for once, but proved wrong. Someone on this forum was warning me about Privilege and I should have listened.
Phoned them up for a quote on my 1989 import 300 TT. As it wasn't on their books they quoted me a price for a 300 single turbo and said that would be the price they would give, even though its a different car. Great, I thought, £530 bargain. So I send off my NCD proof etc. Then things start to go bad.
Firstly they lose my original NCD documents, though they definitely received them.
Secondly now (two weeks later and a different salesperson) they reckon my car is not covered and my premium will increase by £300, which will be waived if I fit a Tracker (these must cost about £500 to fit, complete).
So all in all I'm well pissed off. I've just changed over to Norwich Union Direct, but I got well messed about by Privilege and I can only advise other members to steer clear of them. They just told me what I wanted to hear to get a policy, then they changed their tune and I've lost original documents showing 12 years of NCD into the bargain.
