Hi, I'm about to buy a 300zx TT 2 seater, and want to set off on the right foot by getting a full service done including all belt changes etc.

Does anyone have any recommendations of specialists in Scotland or Northern England please.

Any help appreciated.

hi there,

this isn't a zx specialist but im sure this guy will help you out!

he is the most clued up guy i have ever met that really does know his stuff!

his name is john and he runs gmc motorsport in scotland!

i was really impressed when i met as he is so down to earth and really does know more than anyone! (well i think so) he mapped up my mates supercharged saxo, ok you're thinking slightly differently agter that comment! but he does know everything! his business is built inside a citroen dealership but give him a call and let me know his response!

its based in newton stewart (scotland)

tel: 01671 403613

or: 09068 615715

hope they can help you!

(sorry about the length of the post, just got in and im a bit pissed)

cheers, matt

heh

I know John - my other car is a Saxo VTS which I've been talking to him about supercharging...it's already got a pile of GMC gadgetry in it!

Chris

oh ok cool, are you a member of the saxo sports club? heard of will chappell? owns carworx? what have you had done to the sax?

not a member of ssc (never got round to it), but a regular on the forums...really need to post that cheque!

the saxo has had loads done to it so far...full gmc suspension upgrade, bodykit, powerflow quad exit exhaust, wheels, windows, lights (front/rear), lots of ice etc.

at the bodyshop at the moment...

not done anything under the bonnet yet, going to get the z sorted out first, then see about that s/c unit ;)

ill tell you this now before its too late!

my mate has still got his same old sax but he did have a vtr lump in it, which was a disadvantage to start with (****ing 8 valve)

so he supercharged it himself with the whole gmc kit and i went with him up to gmc all the way from hertfordshire although only took us 6 hours (it was wicked)!

john informed us that the 150mph we thought we were doing on the way up was actually 170mph due to the 17's which we shit ourselves about when he said because that really is fast!

anyway my mate has now sold that vtr lump with supercharger and has a vts lump sitting in his workshop with a ****ing mahoosive turbo to go on it when he gets round to it!

also gmcs supercharges seem to all go wrong at some point!

ok the major pro point is you have a vts (good start) and with a supercharger you have constant boost as it is belt driven which means no lag where as a turbo is wound up by the exhaust gases which gives a bit of lag but when it winds up you end up with a lot of kick (boost) and a lot more fun as turbs can give much greater boost which means much more fun, more speed and a lot more of shitting yourself!

   SSSSSHHHHHTOP!!!

Think you chaps might be in the wrong forum!;) :D

There`s AWD motorsport in Perth, they specialise in Jap cars. There is also Hypertech in Bonnybridge who I`ve used before.
