I thought my car was quick until I finished fitting my SBC-iD boost controller this morning. Spent most of the afternoon playing around with it and listening out for DET.

 

I think I did have a very slight det once, but I was running 16.4 psi :eek:.

 

Sorting that now and I'm running 15.8 with no det at all.

Aftermarket intercoolers will be on order just after christmas.

 

I decided to mount the SBC-iD in a Vinz pod :D. Not sure if that's the given name for it LOL. Has anyone else got one of these Vinz pods ?, how did you keep it from moving ?. I'm tempted to glue mine into place with some transparent glue, but I hope to get a power ID in the near future so don't want to have to dismantle it again to fit it.

 

Thought I'd get rid of the nasty traction control box as well today and put some illuminated switches in place for fog lamps are various other bits ;).

 

Pity you didn't fit that a week earlier, you would have got a great figure @ the RR.

 

Just fitted a HKS controller on an S13 today, good job!!

 

Gotta get one on mine as on Friday I overboosted to 20PSI :eek: :eek: :eek:

BlitZ id is my first choice so far, gotta get the wonga.

 

Looking at your centre console it's "Go Go gadget SMW", lotsa toys and no room for the controller.

 

 

Didn't macca hide his up top within the sun visor. After all once you are happy with your boost settings you are hardly gonna play with it on a regular basis.

True but on the other hand im setting mine up to have low setting as stock boost, high as about 12.5 and scramble boost as 14.5 or so.

 

But i'm one of these people who likes to nurse there Z, not much point using 15psi when in rush our traffic etc, also looks/feels cool when u hit the scramble button to overtake!! :)

I'm dying to buy one and get it installed, but scared I'd screw up the car by fitting it myself.

 

Did you consider other controllers before you chose this one? - I really can't make my mind up.

Not sure what you mean by so it yourself but I guess you mean did I fit it myself.

 

Yes, I was a little worried about doing it wrong, but it turned out to be a piece of piss to fit.

 

I went for the blitz SBC-ID as I though it looked very simple and kinda smart rather than the others. I also liked the idea that you can set the warning on it so if you do get a boost spike it will flash red, the buzzer will go off and then it will limit your boost. So it's very safe. I wanted to get the power- id as well but at the time someone was selling the BC brand new for a good price so I snapped it up. I stil need to get the power -id but have to decipher what version of the SBC-iD I have first so that I can match it up.

 

I'll take a picture of it at night so someone can tell me what version it is, as I think the only difference is the screen display colour.

your car was nice and responsive @ 10psi, although most of the time it was hitting that round roundabouts whist we all clung onto our mcdonalds :)

 

I think that is defiently one of the best looking boost controllers out there :)

Yes, So it yourself, is Typo for Do it yourself (S+D are next to each other on my keyboard and sometimes I slip!)

THis is a boost controller - so what is the Power ID - a Fuel controller?

 

Do they therefore work in tandem?

 

What would be a good price for the SBC-ID? and how long did it take you to fit it?

Incidentally, is this the extra pod you fitted, looks good!

Where can I get one too?

Not sure where you can get one from. I got mine from Vinz on this forum. It you send him a mail I'm sure he can either supply one or put you in touch with somone.
