Woohooo! I just got my Zed back from the bodywork people. I have had the small area of rust repaired on the O/S/R arch.

Chappie did a great job removing rust, filling and blending etc:)

Then I looked at the paint work:(

He didn't respray whole rear wing, just the arch area and blended it in. That bit was OK but the area of original paint on the wing looks as if spiders have been ice-skating on it, he's sprayed part of the rear bumper for some reason (why, I don't know since the natural join is a good place to stop:confused: ) and the blend-in is soooo bad it could have been done by a 1 armed baboon weilding a spray-can and to cap it all the b***ard had managed to crack the paint on my boot spoiler. I had that resprayed by the dealer when I bought the car so it was perfect before I took it in.

This guy is a contact used by my mechanic, who is a friend of mine. Still I haven't paid yet and I'm fecked if I will until it is done properly.

But that's another 2-3 days without my Zed - really annoying:mad:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Richard, you're right not to put up with poor bodywork.

I took someone to court over this and ended up with several hundred squiddlies to put things right. The Small Claims Court is a wonderful thing - as is Contract Law.

Has the trader who did the work done it to the standard required by the contract? If not, you are entitled to damages to rectify the situation.

If you haven't already, make it clear to chappie that you expect the work to be done to that standard you would reasonably expect from a professional. Including, but not limited to, the paint matching, the bumper not being damaged, and the boot spoiler not being cracked.

Even if you only agreed to pay (eg) £200 for the job but the damage would cost £500 to put right, he's got to cough up the £500. If you win, that is!

Good luck - Gio
