OK, I've been moaning about running rich and emmitting plumes of white smoke at idle, but today I had a bit of fun.
I was driving into the office at around 11.00am and took my usual route along a 4 lane road with occasional central islands and nuisance right turners (you know the sort of thing!??)
A few of us tucked into the inside lane to pass a static car signalling right (blocking MY LANE!!!!) and I was keen to get into the outer lane again quickly so I could blast past the 'ordinary' cars in front. Sadly, some plonker in an old Ford Granada pulled out without signalling right in front of me. He didn't accelerate, but continued at the same snail's pace as the traffic on the inside. Then he noticed another right turner up ahead and decided to tuck back in so he could pass it.
SO, I dropped into second, floored her and blasted past him, 2 transits, a bus and 2 more cars, snatched third and tucked back in just before I hit the right turner, pulled out again and did the same down the next row.
It felt great (till I realised I was doing about 80 on a 30mph strip!)
So I slowed down and trundled the rest of the way with a big grin on my face.
