Quote from Z1motorsports site - "Shared plenum design. This setup evenly splits the intake air volume to maintain equal flow of air through both filters. Not only does this eliminate the need for low load drivability hoses to be installed, but it produces consistent A/F results from one car to the next.

What is a low load driveability hose?

And you aren;t allowed to say that its a hose that improves driveability under low load:slap:

JWT had a problem with idle/low load driveability with his mapping for 550 injectors/dual intake!

This overcomes it!

If you want a more techno answer ask John Dixon!

The reason for the driveability uprgrade is that the 300 takes its idle air from one bank only. Under stock conditions (single intake) this isn't a problem as the MAS measure ALL of the air entering the system. When you go to a proper twin filter setup, you move the MAS to ONE of the banks. It will either read all the idle air entering the engine (this is a problem because the signal from the MAS is doubled to account for the air on the other bank) or it won't measure ANY of the idle air (figure that one out for yourselves :D). The drivability upgrade simply makes the car draw its idle air from BOTH intakes (just like it does with the stock setup).

You have to look at the engine and understand the pipework really to get your head round this....

Hope that makes some sense though...

Andy
