As you are all aware I am on the look-out for some new wheels.

I have spent hours looking at pics and ringing round for prices.

The amount of times I have phoned a company for a price and they take my number and say they will phone back.......and don't. These people don't deserve to be in business. They can afford to throw away a possible £1 - £1.5k?

P1sses me off.

I NEVER ring a company back and ask, they can fook right off.

If they don't ring me back I do the same ...

I expect a good service and if they can't be arsed to provide one then they can go **** themselves.

Like you said 1- 1.5K isn't to be sneezed at is it.

I know what you mean, but prices can change rapidly and unless you are updating your web-site religiously it can fall behind and you can annoy even more people. Also, many prices in life are 'negotiable', so if you put the full value on the web it might put some off from equiring further and finding out that discounts can be had.

There's no excuse for not getting back to an equirey though.....that's just un-professional.:(

Probably due to employing staff with no direct incentive to make sales - ie. fixed (& low) wages.

if its in my interest i call back, I hate buying stuff over phone/web though, i prefer to pick it up from a shop, its a shame that i like the web prices though :(

Problem with most web sites with prices on, especially like alloy wheels, they price changes so often with exchange rates, competition and availability. Most places would not be able to give a price until they phone their suppliers. Its not a thing that you keep in stock.

I would be more pissed off if they advertised one price and when I phoned it was more expensive.

Most places will pay a company to create a website, the wheel company will have no access to so they cant change the prices as needed. They have to pay the web developers to do it, and as many of you will know, they will charge a full days work just to change a few numbers. And with the prices probably chaning week by week, it would be very expensive to change.

As for compainies who dont ring back it is a pain, but you telling me you have never forgot to ring some one back? They maybe so busy at the moment they dont have time or slipped their mind. Dont forget that they probably have loads of enquiries about wheels to which a very small percentage will actually buy some. Their attitude may be, if they are serious about buys some wheels, then they will phone back.

I know its a pain when they say they will and then dont phone, but I work in a place where hundreds of customers expect you to ring them for the smallest things, when we have more important things to do.

I know you are annoyed but do you really wish the whole company to go bust and every one lose their job just because some one forgot to ring you?

WTF??

If it was my own company, then no, I would never 'forget' to call someone back who may just be spending £1500.

If it wasn't the owner who answered then the owner still needs to sort his fookin staff out and they are BOTH arseholes!

Yeah......and that percentage will be even smaller if they dont bother to ring prospective customers back. Which is why they deserve to go tits up. What kind of attitude is that? That sucks.

i'm with you on this one james - its just plain bad buisiness practice not to return a call.

i realise that there isn't someone on the other end of the phone deciding that it would really piss me off if they didn't call back so they won't bother but it doesn't make it any less annoying when you are trying to hand over your hard-earned.

i get annoyed waiting in line at the checkouts in shops too - i'm stood here doing by very best to spend money in your shop yet still you make me stand here for fifteen minutes waiting to hand it over - bunch of arse!

I was obviously joking and wouldn't want Joe Bloggs to be made redundant......I was thinking of the one-man-band kinda outfits which alot of these places on the net seem to be.

If it was Joe Bloggs that didn't ring me back.........then yes, I want him to lose his job. He doesn't deserve it.

I'd call back and get the little fcuker's name next time then if he doesn't ring back call them again and ask to speak to the boss. If he is the boss then tell about how shoddy you think his buisiness practices are, if he's the spotty little nova drivin' pr1ck of an assistant then he'll get a kick up the ar$e when his boss find out he may just have lost a grand-plus sale!!:p

Either way you get some satisfaction or grovelling.....or both.....oh yeah and maybe even some wheels!!!;) :D

wrt prices on websites, they could give a guide price , or a price with a date next to it, and the comments - prices may go up or down, so phone for latst price/offers etc.

Believe me mate, there are some people that never ring back or deliver when they say they will no matter how much you hassle them, naming no names

Saying that, if I was spending 1-1.5K I'm sure that I'd have had a MUCH better response (one seriously cheesed of Shaun :( ).
