So - looks like the end of an era for Jacques Villeneuve. What's the consensus? Washed up has-been who deserves to go or gifted racer persecuted by his team for being more interested in competing than PR?

My view is that Dave Richards was right to get rid of Jacques, but it's a real shame that he's leaving (or in fact left) F1. He's a brilliant driver to watch, and he was never able to settle well in the BAR team.

What does anyone else think?

I think he's a really good driver, just the cars he's had that are letting him down at the moment, put him in a top taem and he'd be back up there behind Shuey like he used to be.

Jacques is a perfect example that the car is the most important thing in a F1 championship now. When he was at Williams he was magnificent and a championship contender. He moves to another team and he struggles for points. I dont think he driving abilities deminished to each extreme in a change over, just that the gap between the top cars and bottome cars is huge.

Stuart

He lost the will to win, and stayed at BAR ONLY because it was well paid...he is a loser with a big mouth, remember what he said about Jenson? But who is always in front

The guy is an arogant, self centred, short arsed tw@t that pisses in his race suit during a race. Maybe this experience will teach the t0sser not to be so greedy and motivated by money.

Now all we need is to sack half the design team and employ some good people.

On the flip side though now we have to put up with Sato, who finds it difficult to stay on the black stuff at the best of times.

JB, bloody nice bloke, one of the lads and he's British.
