Now there is one typ of car I hate, Mercs, cant bloody stand them, there for old farts and they all look shite, even the new SLK's.

 

I got beat this morning by a CL600!

 

Man, this thing went like a rocket so when I got to work all pi55ed off, I went into the merc site and this thing is a, wait for it (fook me!)

They do cost £92,000 for the basic though!!!:cry:

I'm sure if you spent £92K on your Z it would leave the Merc as a distant memory:D

 

There are some seriously quick German tanks out there though. They all seem to be kicking out around 5-600bhp through HUGE engines with turbos/superchargers.:eek:

 

I bet no one at the bus stop or high street etc. looks at a boring slabby Merc, so cheer up!:)

Was it a coupe thing with V large wheels and some rather nice vents on the front wing? (Urgh, what am I saying, bits of a merc are nice, steps away from keyboard and shudders.......).

I have noticed about 3 of these recently whilst out and about.

I got spanked by an S600 a while back on the M1. Basically sat in the middle lane at about 5MPH slower than me, and after I went past, he pulled out behind me. I pulled in to the middle lane and he just went flying past. Did that a couple of times, just to make a point.

 

I have to say I was astonished by the acceleration of the thing at quite high speeds. I know I would never have kept up with it. And it's a pluto-barge, FFS! Probably completely silent and airy in his cabin as he roared past me. Perhaps a little Eric Satie tinkling away on the n-speaker stereo system...

 

But yeah - he probably paid half my mortgage more for it than I paid for my trusty zed.

All these comments are all true but it still pizzes you off to the max, they are the most ugly looking cars, apart fromt he new primera that I have ever seen.

 

And side by side, I know which I would choose! The merc, then sell the sack of 5hit and buy a very low milage mint 99 spec zed and tune the fook out of it!!!!

 

Then go find another CL600 and kick its ass!!!

 

I think I could have had him off the roundabout but I was in 3rd when I wanted to be in second, bloody auto!!!!:p

 

Really peed me off though, never been beaten before, even the tuscan struggled (I think he would have won long term though)

If you lot think the mercs are fast then u should really be worried about the brabus conversion mercs as they are cars not to be fu*ked with.

 

Iv seen some of them on the brabus website and god they look like big barges but hell yeh do they go.

 

At least we look and get more attention in our zeds as long as we look fast its all good.

I think that by including the pictures you have proved it's a horrible car. It's SO uninspiring, bland and forgettable. I don't care if it can whoop the ass off a Z, (I wouldn't care if it could beat a McLaren F-1!!) it still looks........DULL

for some reason i like it. but for 95k it would not be my car of choose.

 

95k is super car money and the SL55 does not look like a super car

Now before you start poopraman, I know I got my ass kicked this morning by a merc but that convertible is not a nice car.

 

Again, it just looks dull, no nice lines and nothing to make it stand out in a crowd apart from no roof.

 

For that amount of money, I want every fooker to look at me and say 'that bloke has got more money than sense'.:slap: :slap:

 

Now I can look at some BMW's and say there OK, like the new Z8, nice lines..:)

Listen poopra boy my zed has only given me trouble on my hoses which are sitting at home ready to be fitted but iv never had the time to book it in for a engine out job which will happen once the car is out and the car hasint broken down its in the bodyshop for a special kit which obviously supra owners wont do coz no matter what they do to there car it will still have 3 arses 1 on the front and 1 on the rear and 1 in the drivers seat.

 

Other than hoses my car has been perfect. (other than my slight accident which was my fault and not the zeds)

 

But then again id rather drive a zed then have a chestwig and hang about at schools picking up little girls.:slap:

the CL600 is a V12 normally asperated engine

 

the AMG55 is a supercharged V8

 

no turbos, only on the diesels :slap:

 

both 4.8secs 0-60. still dont feel as quick as my zed tho ;) :D

BTW, had a SL55 AMG in today. now that IS the mutts :D outruns the Diablo!!!!! :cool:

Thats it, the SL55 AMG, thats what I have seen a few of kickin round. Must belong to some geezers from Blackpool, who probly run night clubs or the doors or something like that!!!:D :D

The average top of the range Merc coupe driver will be driving a company paid for car and will probably have a luxury saloon and a couple of other cars too.Probably a Ferrari or classic Jaguar for e.g.

The CL600 has to be petrol, there is no way you'd get 800lbs of torque from a diesel, not a chance in hell, not this generation anyway!:confused:

 

Can you really get 500bhp from a v12 N/a with no supercharger or anything???

course its a petrol!! i meant only the diesel engines in the merc range use turbos :slap:

 

oh, & the new V8 diesel has a huuuuuuuuuuuuuge amount of torque, right from low down too ;)
