"A BOB" used to be worth 12 old pence when there were 240 old pence to one pound.I used to pay a shilling (same as a Bob) for a pint of beer.So as there were twenty shillings (Bobs) to the pound.You could buy twenty pints for a Quid (£1) Or in dicimal 5p a pint.Them were the days when you could get plastered on 1/2 a nicker or ten bob..............Hovis (Brown Bread) cost four pence three farthings,but thats another story!
