Im gonna get a custom exhaust done when the car comes out the bodyshop.

Im going to be de-catting it but im not sure about the cat sensors what do we do with them.

Some have told me to cut them away and not bother with them.

The car is standard but im looking to beef up the power to about 380bhp but no more later on the year (boost controller ,chip, air filter, and a few subtile mods for the engine here and there etc etc)

What do i do with the cat sensors

Also what size exhaust pipe should i use iv been told that serious powered turbo cars should have 3.5" but iv been told to get 3" which would be best suited for my car with the power that i want.

Im going for the twin exit not single exit exhaust if that helps.

I really want a aggresive sound.

Any help will be good guys

the cat sensors go up through the body work and into a black box, which sits under the centre console behind the handbrake. When you are in the shop, or before, cut the sensor wire and tuckj it out the way (the plastic cable tray that runsd the length of the car is a good place) thenm when you have time, take out the centre console, look behind the handbrake and you will see the two wires (you can tell them they are covered in stainless braiding) going into a black box a little smaller than a cigarette packet, unplug the box, pull the wires through the floor into the car, making sure you ahve removed the clips that hold them to the body, and the end pieces, or you will never get them out. A very simple job, 3/4 of an hour.

Hope this helps.

Also got my exhaust made at a place called longlife exhausts, they give you a selection of sound levels, from quiet through to sporty, can you guess which way I went .lol

Will the car run fine without them though or will fuelling or anything else start playing up.

Just wanna make sure i dont mess anything up

It'll run absolutely fine. The ECU does not use the cat temp sensors. They are only there to warn you if the cats are overheating.

Cheers andy

But what wouold be the best size to go for with the exhaust pipes

Shall i go for 3" all the way through or 3.5" iv heard that the faster the gases come out the better but if you go to big it can also wear out the turbo or turbo seals quicker.

Is this garbage or is there any truth in this.

Cheers
