Remote Start Alarm

 

Bob, any feelings on these types of alarm??

 

i.e. are they any good, worth the money, can't be fitted, easy to fit, waste of time etc....

Matty, I think if you have remote starting it cancells the cat 1 status or your alarm.

Nope, it doesn't - I phoned and checked. And I have the time of the phone call and the name of the operative should I need to rely on it to get the feckers to pay out. Not that it's very likely to be nicked from C&S Woods' forecourt which is where it is usually parked...

 

And why would it? If you drive off without inserting the key (having already stolen the unstealable remote start one-time cipher code) then the car will stall - IOW it's still immobilised.

 

There is something else which my Clifford does that DOES invalidate it, but I can't remember what it is now, but I also know it's turned off my default, whatever it is, and I haven't turned it on!
