Has anybody mad a sub base box and fitted it in the rear passenger side panel ,as am thinking of making one to fit inside that space around the wheel arch area which would free up space in this large boot space we have.

gonna experiment with some mdf.

I have got componets in the rear passenger side panels with a 13cm Mid and these things only just fit because of the wheel arch , It would have to be a big box to fit a sub without hitting the arches

cheers Ian

nice job, I was looking at using the rear n/s back inner wing to use the space of sub box, av just finished making templares i'll let u know if it sounds and looks ok.

this way the boot space is used to maximum effect lol.

im pretty sure behind that plastic panel is an ECU for something or other.

had a look behind panel and there is no ecu only a pair of relays

question?? whats the best way to bend mdf........soak it in water and bend it ???

Richard

You can buy flexible MDF, not easy to bend the normal stuff though.

get mdf wet and it swells up and in time will go mouldy. the preferred route is fibreglass

You should drop Kirbz a line - he has speakers in both rear panels (I think) and a Sub in the boot - sounds ok though!

:D

or just use dynamat you can buy it in sheets or you can buy it as a spray its especially good around the light clusters and placcy panel that vibrates when you up the bass....it aint chaep but it does the job

hey tooley you got a picture of it or supplier who does it ??

thanks Richard

Any car audio shop sells dynamat. Or the Maplins do the cheaper version called brown bread.

I used it on the entire rear of the car. Cuts down road noise as well as stopping rattles form my base.
