I have a leak on the power stearing or HICAS pipes somewhere under the engine.

When on full lock i'm leaving a trail of fluid and it's constantly needing a top up.

Is this common? Anyone had this and found a quick fix and if not how much are these pipes? They look like big hydraulic hoses and suspect they will be a Nissan only part at silly money...

 

Not good, I had this problem on my old Z 'shed' that went back to dealers many moons ago.....

 

....it had other things wrong with it to but I was told I would need a new power steering unit and pipe work!

 

I have no idea how much it would cost for the power steering unit but all together the old Z 'shed' would have cost me £2,000 to be made road worthy and that included the Power steering unit and pipe work.....but as I said there was alot wrong with the car at the time.

 

If I was you I would contact Darren at Ancaster, just to get a rough idea of cost,

Ooooo. Rear steering rack. I might be interested. Need to find out other costs first. My 4WS has been disabled but has new custom made suspension and have been told it handles better. But I would like to see how much it would be to put it back on
