A funny thing is happening to my pc at home every now and then, alot more in the past couple of days.

After being on-line for about 15 mins or so, all of a sudden, through the speakers you hear a drip! You know-a drop of water going into more water, 'plop' kinda thing, then I lose my internet connection. PC stays on, but have to sign back on.

Have I got a virus?

Cheers.

Have you got a virus checker (and/or a firewall) - if not why not ?

You may have the Blaster virus........

You can get the blaster removal file ( I think its called "fixblaster) free from http://www.symantec.com and it does not require that you have norton antivirus installed

You then need the patch from microsoft site to fix your windows

James, this may sound stupid, but are you running AOL 8?? Cus if you are, it sounds like one of the many 'sounds' available to indicate that someone on your 'Buddy List' has signed on/off, and they select there own sound, NOT YOU. So you wouldn't be aware if you didn't know. Not wanting to sound patronising towards you. ;)

Just thought I'd ask, as that is the sound that I use!!

Anyway, if it isn't, then sorry to have wasted your time.

LOL! you nutter! anytime on here is NEVER wasted.

I think I am on AOL 8 as it goes........I think you have hit the nail on the head there! I thought someone was sending me the sound and immediately looked on my buddy list!

Nice one Dave..........are you on my list? IT COULD BE YOU!! LOL. :D

You need to drain the AIVs, otherwise the CPU will gurgle when idling. ;)
