I MAY be totally redoing my Z and with that a total respray, in my own time though.

 

 

What colour do you think I should do?

 

I was thinking Purple, maybe the Nissan Purple used on the late Zs or the Skyline blue.

I reckon Skyline Blue as there ain't many Zeds in that colour and it is a real nice blue!

I think if youre gonna get her re sprayed youve got to go flip paint.

 

There is a guy who does it near me and he's meant to be one of the best in the country and he charges about £3k for the lot which is cheap for flip paint and you can have a variety of colours. I have a chart with all the colours on and some of them are fantastic.

I asked my dad about it as he would do the spraying, he said it is hard as if you get it wrong you cant go back.

Will if it helps i can get all the paint for flip paint at cost, its about £350 per half ltr :eek:

and you will need about 2 ltr for a zed

 

If you know some one to do it it will save you even more money

RED RED You know it makes sense

Well, if you were going for one colour, I would have to say White, but I'm biased as White is my favorite colour on a car. Most of the time anyway. (Furrels video with the White Ferrari and red interior looks phat!)

 

However, white body with red inner wings would look pap so I would go with a colour that is close to red, but that is not, but that blends in well with it. If you are going for a full respray, then I would say, do something special, seeing as you do have a special car.

Well I'd go for a flip paint with two shades of orange, one lighter than the other. It would look wicked with my black and orange interior. I saw a car with that colour the other day and I thought the ZX would look great with a paint job like that.

Why'd you wanna change it? It looks fine in the pic in your rides section. If you go for a complete re-spray in a different colour you'll need someone who's gonna spend ages prepping it, pulling it all apart and painting everything. That won't be cheap.

 

What's this about "getting it wrong"?! If anyone you talk to (your dad included) advises you something like that you gotta just walk away! Pay the money and go with someone who really knows what they're doing or you could have big regrets.

My dads not charging for it.

 

He has done some spraying over the years but advised that flip paint is hard to do, because if something does go wrong, smudge, dribble or such a thing, with flip paint you have to do the whole thing again where usually you are able to polish out stuff like that.

 

 

My options are still open but talking with DaveW, I realise how much I love it in red, even though one person thinks red is gay ;)

 

So it may stay red, but resprayed red as some parts are starting to turn a little pink :S Now that is gay ;)

Hahaha! :D I'm with ya now. I'm kinda of a mind that you get what you pay for with paintwork. My mate got his car fully resprayed as a part insurance job and it looks soddin' lovely - everyone who's seen it says the same thing. It wasn't cheap tho. And it was sprayed in it's original colour.

 

If you know you're not gay then WTF?.. paint it pink. Or let it all fade to pink ;) (also not gay wink)
