Bose stereo & Nissan Cd player

Can enyone help!,

I have the bose tape player and nissan cd/mini 3 cd's player in my 300zx as standard. Last week i tryed to play a cd and an ''E'' came up on the LCD display and then it all went off ( im guessing E stood for ERROR?). Now the cd player is dead to the world but the tape player works fine.

I have checked both fuses and they are fine, checked the rear fuse (at the back) and this is fine, but it appears that the live feeds are the same for both units (i.e. looped).

So does this mean my unit is nackerd, throw it in the bin and get a new one???
