Anyone fitted a NISMO ADJUSTABLE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR ?

Featured Replies

Not had the need yet.

You got/getting one ?

I guess the adjustable level only comes into play with bigger injectors or is this something that us small 340cc boys can benefit from ?

Not fitted one here either..

It's really something that needs to be set up by a tuner on a rolling road to get any real benefit from, but in short (with any size injectors);

You can raise/lower the fuel pressure, lower pressure will (obviously) flow less fuel, but the injector will have a faster open & close response time.

Higher pressure, the injector will flow more fuel, but will have a slower open/close response time.

The bigger an injector gets, the bigger ins pintle gets, which in essence means it's response time gets slower (the fuel pressure is pressing on a larger pintle area, thus slowing things down).

Everything is within limits, of course - you can't make a 340cc injector flow massive amounts, because eventually it won't be able to open any longer!

Although I've run 75psi before now, and it ran OK...

FWIW, most injectors are quoted at 42psi I believe, so you can work out (with a fairly simple calculation) what they will 'theoretically' flow at any fuel pressure.

Now your just clutching at straws!:D

Just admit defeat and save yourself the embarrasment. Next it will be magic trees!:D

I was gonna buy one of these and then have it set up with a

S-AFC as they seem to have good benefits from this in the US

I think AdamR was running one so he might have some more info

I thought we had 370cc

I think you're right.. Sorry, it's too hot in here (probably 35C in the office, and no airflow), and the ol' brain isn't exactly functioning very well..

Do you need a higher pressure fuel pump to go with one of these?

How high does the stock pump go?

Do you need to remap the ECU or will an AFR do the trick?

Stock Zed pump is very good. 500bhp good.

I'm not sure there is a bigger pump TBH, I think people start to run pumps in parallel at that stage.

Well if your only looking for a safe 15-17 , would you need 555

or would this surfice.

looking on the TT.net board and they seem to think that the rule of thumb is that for every 1psi in fuel you go up you can raise the boost by 1 psi

any body know any different

I ran 17psi for almost a year without 555's or an FPR:eek:  :D

Adam how much did you up the fuel pressure by ??

I didnt have an FPR, I used an SAFC to increase injector duty.....
