Reading through Max Power last night(f**k all on smelly!) and a company called Regal Auto Bulbs is now doing a superb HID kit for £499 all in. They don't have a website, but I'm gonna give them a ring to see what the score would be fitting to a 300ZX. It does state that the kit can be installed onto any car and it rattles on about how until now only certain H4/H7 connection types would be acceptable...whatever that means? AndyP help me out here!

It is expensive but they claim 300 percent brighter, which in most of our cases means that we should be able to get our money back by selling the Night Vision goggles that most of us have had to buy! Comes with everything, discharge units, wiring etc. If this can be applied to our cars I may be the Guinea Pig and then let you all know if I've been stung! Or whether it truly is an illuminating experience...LMAO!

Also, the Supra that was at Billing, 600BHP jobby is featured in this months edition...well sorted motor!

Excellent tech. comparision of all types of exhausts. HKS get the best recommendation for the Jap. gear, followed very closely by BlitZ(AAaiiiiii!) and Trust. They have also managed to get their hands on some very, very rare Titanium exhausts which hhhaaappparrently are extremely hard to get hold of, not to mention expensive.

Hmmm, sounds interesting. Do they replace the bulb and reflector or just the bulb? I think the real problem with ours is that the reflectors are not good enough, oin which case a bulb a 3 times brighter will not necessarilly put 3 times as much light in the right place. I would have thought replacing reflectors in any light would be tricky ... Maybe it's a sealed unit, then then it's unlikely it would fit a Z. Maybe they're auxillary lights -much easier.

Nope, seen the pics. Just nicely plastic coated flexy wiring with bulbs stuck on the end. This is all connected up to 2 x discharge units which you would just mount somewhere...god knows where though...no sodding room in our engine bays.

When I was chatting to Jeff at Billing he was telling me about how to get the lights out quite easily from the front. He said that the round magnifier lense(on the outside as you look at the HL) gets covered in dust and crap. He cleaned his up and they were much better.

Isn't it this round light that acts as the headlight? Centre reflector units are for the Main Beam aren't they? Coz I know that the Fiat Coupes use a similar sort of round, magnifier type unit.

This kit is ready to go outta the box mate, just need to rig it, remove old bulb and push in new HID bulb. You need to see it! I reckon it might be a goer for our cars.

Haven't got the number on me, mag is back at my digs but I'll get the number tomorrow and give them a call.

P.S. Max Power were saying that it's so easy to setup you can remove it without any hassle if you go to sell your car and want to install on your next vehicle.

if you guys have the Jspec connectors for the 9006 bulbs, the US spec HID conversion kits won't be compatible.

Go here for pictures of the Phillips HID kit - USspec
