I've been looking at them but the average price seems to be about £150 - £200 smackeroonoies ! I'm looking for cheap - but conforming to safety standards... as I drive like an old fart, and so am unlikely to require anything other than entry level.

Hi there Jayen,

The last one I bought was a made by Shoei and cost about £170.00 . You can buy ones that are cheaper but you may be sacrificing comfort. Most of the ones I bought in the past that were cheap were also a bit uncomfortable!!. FM do some quite smart looking helmets for a reasonable price. The reason I can say Shoei are good in practice is that I have had first hand experience!

About three years ago some silly female driver (this is not to say all female drivers are silly Ajay!!LOL) pulled out of a T junction in front of my GSXR 750. After smashing my head into her windscreen I flew over her roof and 10 metres up the road.....and I was only doing 30mph at the time. The guy behind her at the junction was amazed to see me get up a minute later. He thought I had broken my neck and was dead!. That put me off bikes for a while so I went out and bought my Zed.

Don't buy too cheap my friend, get one that will do the job and keep you safe. Good luck finding one M8
