Was he running some kind of ally fan? That's a weird bracket bolted to the front of the fan clutch..

He had it made up last week:(

Just shows how important balance can be? It looks like the ally fan has got itself out of balance, began vibrating, fatigued the water pump casting then found its freedom to eat the radiator.

Of course could be totally wrong here

Alternator is at a funny angle as well but maybe detached.

Wonder who pays? Fan designer or person who bought it!

Why did they do it? The fans on a viscous coupling so the stock plastic one is the most efficient one anyway aerodynamically.

That's exactly why I asked - I'd come to the same conclusion as you..

I think the alt has been unbolted post-explosion, as there's no top bolt (not sure if the top one is pivot or slide-lock on the RB26).

it aint so good for the skylines in the end lol.

Project X was doing some test runs they other day at Abbey motorsport and they cracked the block, so no Project X either.

Thats a real shame ,was looking forward to see how it got on against Rocket Ronnie,hope the bonnet was down when it went,think of all that shrapnell:eek:
