Yes they do look very much like it. I asked about them a few days ago and I was told that they are hard wearing. With my personal experience, hard wearing tyres are not good for a Z. I had tyres which would cause the back end to kick out very badly going round the easiest of corners. However the new Avon's may be different.

Stuart

I tried some of these on My Zed. (borrowed some off a mates written of zed - he spun it)

It was like driving on ice.

I promtly got some Toyo's and its like driving on rails!!

Well, you can see the logic...

"I lost control and spun the Z."

"Cool, your tyres must stick like Araldite, can I borrow them?"

"Sure, they'll be even better now I've had them doing a 720 sideways and run them across a field..."

:-)

thanks!!!

The Guy who spun its nickname is 'Spinny'

He's spun his 205 on more than one occasion too.

I thought the zz3s were brand new and different from the zz2's just as So2s are believed better than so3s. I thought maybe something in the tread pattern since they and others have copied the so2 pattern.

Tyres are very subjective - different makes seem to suit different cars better than others.

I've been using 18" Falkens. My opinion is they're OK wet and dry but only last around 10k. I know others think they're crap.

I can loose the back end anytime also with these but I've learned to back off when conditions wont allow it!

Nobody can try all makes available on one car so I cant see how anyone can state definitively one is crap and another not. Plus we have cars with 16 - 19" wheels and with import or harder Euro/UK shocks and springs which all affect handling.

Well I've got Avon ZZ3's on the front of mine and if you can get them to understeer or squeal, your a better man than me, they grip extremely well. I lost the back end with pirelli's on but the front helped me to correct things because they didn't skid so much !

I haven't tried anything else on the front so can't compare but I wouldn't say they are bad !

Olly.
