someone must have some suggestions

it would go *about* to the half way mark. problem is the stock gauge is crap, & prob wouldnt measure the difference between safety boost & full boost!!

my performance is very poor aswell thats why ive quieried the boost gauge reading

Power mode automatically kicks in when you floor it, or blip the throttle a few times in quick succession.

i dont floor it or blip the throttle it just switches to power mode all the time even with light acceleration. very difficult to drive around town etc as holds gears for too long

I Guess you gonna need to get some bod to look at that, I have 91tt and i have to put pedal on floor before power light comes on.

My factory boost gauge reads around 4.5mmmmmmg or 3/4 of the way round the dial, if thats any help

LEEZX where are you in Hampshire ??

Hello ther LeeZX,

My 89 TT manual (import) reads about 5.5 mmHg (i.e. just a fraction past the last mark before the 7 mmHg maximum reading. As far as I am aware the car is stock.

I think max boost is 9.5 psi on U.K. cars but I can't remember the conversion from mmHg to PSI. Someone on here will know.

Hope this helps.

Martin.

LEEZX,

I had this problem - fixed initially by resetting the ECU (disconnect battery for about 1 hour). It did eventually come back, so I checked/adjusted the TPS voltage (see other topics), reset the ECU again, and it hasn't come back since. Only drops to Power when I floor it. Could be worth a try?

(Eventually replaced the TPS - got it with a load of stuff from the US).
